"I have been watching Roland-Garros since I was very young, and it's been a big dream of mine to win this tournament. I can't believe I'm holding this trophy—Paris will always have a very special place in my heart," expressed Andreeva after the final. "I would like to thank my team for pushing me to my limits. Last, but not least, I would like to thank myself for always believing in me, for giving 100-per-cent even when it's tough, and for trying my best every day to be better as a person and as a player."
With the Maison serving as the tournament’s Official Timekeeper since 2019, Andreeva’s remarkable performance was witnessed by 15,000 spectators, including tennis great Garbiñe Muguruza. Having claimed the first of her two Grand Slam titles on the very same court a decade ago, the Spaniard has long considered Andreeva a talent to watch.
“When she joined the Rolex family and started working with my former coach, Conchita Martínez, I became even more invested in her journey,” Muguruza shares. “I’m really enjoying following her results.”
She continues: "She is a good girl, works really hard, and I believe she has an important part to play in the future of our sport. I can’t wait to watch her grow on and off the court, as an ambassador for tennis and for Rolex."
