Japanese-American singer-songwriter mikah’s career has taken him across the globe. Growing up in Honolulu, he enjoyed a carefree childhood spent playing soccer and strumming the ukulele. While he initially dreamed of becoming a professional soccer player, mikah eventually found himself drawn to music. When the opportunity arose to pursue a music career in Tokyo, he leapt at the chance—debuting in his late teens as part of the Japanese-American boy band INTERSECTION, while also taking on occasional modelling gigs.
Towards the end of the group’s tenure, mikah competed on the hit Chinese reality competition Chuang 2021, earning a spot in the project boy group INTO1. His time with the group proved formative. Beyond cultivating a devoted fanbase in China, mikah also found a new home in Shanghai. His growing affinity for fashion soon caught the attention of designers worldwide, leading to collaborations with Robert Wun and modelling work for luxury houses such as Bottega Veneta and Saint Laurent. He was recently spotted at the COS fall/winter 2025 show in New York.
Now stepping confidently into his next chapter, mikah is coming into his own as a solo artist. While primarily based in Shanghai, he also spends significant time in Los Angeles, where much of his music takes shape. During a recent songwriting trip to the City of Angels, mikah took ELLE Singapore along for a glimpse into his downtime—from scenic morning hikes to golden-hour sunsets on Venice Beach.
