“Thank you for having me again, it was so fun!” Constance Lau says as she leaves for the day. And she’s right—it has been fun. Despite having just wrapped an intense eight-hour shoot that began at 9am, the energy at 5pm is still unmistakably lively. Conversation and laughter flow easily, fuelled by a shared ease that comes when people genuinely enjoy one another’s company.
The setting certainly helps. Perched 47 levels above the city in one of Marina Bay Sands Hotel’s Presidential Suites—complete with a baby grand piano and sweeping views across the bay—we’re here to film a “Valentine’s Day with the Girls” video for Milanese jeweller Buccellati.

Starring style insiders Willabelle Ong, Jamie QQ, Salina Chai, Aimee Cheng-Brandshaw and Constance, the scene feels like a natural evolution from the intimate tea session the group shared at Buccellati’s Marina Bay Sands boutique over a year ago. These women are not newcomers to the brand; they’re jewellery lovers who understand—and admire—Buccellati’s language of craftsmanship.
As the film unfolds, the focus shifts from spectacle to sentiment. Champagne is poured, conversations overlap, and jewellery is passed from hand to hand—moments that mirror how Buccellati is meant to be experienced: Intimately and without occasion. It is precisely this quality that makes the Maison such a natural choice for Valentine’s and Galentine’s Day gifting. Each piece feels personal rather than performative, designed to be worn daily and treasured quietly, whether exchanged between partners, friends, or chosen as an expression of self-love.

In a season often defined by fleeting symbols, Buccellati offers something more enduring. Its hand-engraved gold and softly gleaming diamonds speak to a slower, more thoughtful idea of romance—one that values craftsmanship and longevity.
“I’ve collected a few Buccellati pieces, and they feel timeless in the truest sense—as though they could live in any decade,” Willabelle reflects. “There’s a beautiful balance of modernity and heritage, where each piece is meant to be worn, lived in, and eventually passed on, rather than tied to a single moment in time.”

That sentiment resonates with Jamie, who describes Buccellati’s appeal as one that grows with each glance. “It doesn’t rely on spectacle,” she says. “The beauty reveals itself slowly—through texture, weight, and the way light interacts with the surface. It feels intimate rather than declarative.”
It’s a fitting observation for a house renowned for centuries-old goldsmithing techniques—hand-engraving, delicate filigree, and the signature rigato finish that gives gold a silk-like softness. Founded in Milan in 1919, Buccellati has, from the outset, positioned craftsmanship as the very foundation on which the House stands. Under founder Mario Buccellati, the Maison revived Renaissance-era metalworking methods at a time when smooth, high-polish finishes dominated fine jewellery. Instead of concealing the hand of the maker, Buccellati placed it at the centre of its creations with textures that run across every iota of the precious metal’s surface.

The rigato technique, one of the house’s most recognisable signatures, for example, comprises thousands of fine, straight hand-executed lines that result in a fabric-like sheen that diffuses light rather than reflecting it sharply. Similarly, Buccellati’s mastery of openwork filigree, seen in collections such as Tulle and Rombi, transforms precious metal into lace-like structures of remarkable lightness that echo the lightness of textiles while retaining structural integrity.
What distinguishes Buccellati is not just the preservation of these techniques, but the insistence on their continued relevance. Each creation is the result of hours—often days—of meticulous handwork by highly trained artisans, many of whom spend years honing a single skill. This commitment to process ensures that no two pieces are ever entirely identical. In an era increasingly shaped by speed and automation, Buccellati’s approach feels almost radical in its patience. “Buccellati’s craftsmanship feels meditative in the sense that nothing is rushed,” Constance shares. “Each engraving is carefully thought through. The details aren’t designed to catch your eye instantly, but to be discovered over time, which makes the pieces feel very personal.”

While commanding attention from across a room, Buccellati also rewards curiosity and observation. “There’s an almost architectural intelligence to the craftsmanship,” Jamie says. “The engraving, the lace-like metalwork, the softness of the edges—it all speaks to hands, not machines. What I appreciate most is the restraint: The detailing is extraordinarily complex, yet never feels ornamental for its own sake.”
That same restraint is what gives Buccellati jewellery its remarkable versatility. Designed to sit lightly on the body and softly catch the light, each piece is equally at ease with crisp tailoring, an evening dress, or something altogether more relaxed. As Salina puts it, “Buccellati offers everything from refined everyday pieces to bold, showstopping designs. You can choose delicate styles for elevated daily wear or instantly dress up a simple outfit with statement pieces like the Macri bangles."

“I love stacking and mixing Buccellati pieces with my own jewellery,” she continues. “I never leave the house without a ring, so I’d style iconic designs like the Opera ring or Blossom pieces with something as simple as a T-shirt and jeans.”
Aimee adds, “Personally, I prefer a simpler necklace, like the Opera Tulle pendant necklace, and a statement ring stack in my everyday wardrobe. I’m not afraid to go bold on my wrists and hands—the Étoilée and Ramage collections are perfect for this—but I prefer to keep my neckline and earrings on the simple side.”
As the shoot winds down and dusk settles over the city beyond the windows, we say our goodbyes with hugs and promises of future catch-ups, reflecting on a day spent in friendship and a distinct beauty that could only come from Buccellati.
