Since its founding in 2004, Qeelin has remained steadfast in its mission: To introduce Chinese culture and heritage to the world through jewellery that bridges Oriental motifs with modern aesthetics, and centuries-old symbolism with cutting-edge innovation. The brand’s latest fine jewellery collection continues that undertaking—with plenty of pizzazz, we might add.  Â
Aptly titled Miracle Garden, the collection looks to traditional Chinese gardens and populates them with both real and mythical creatures. Playful pandas are found amidst diamond-encrusted bamboo, while majestic dragons and phoenixes encircle the wrist with their fiery hues. Goldfishes with lush, openworked fantails accompany Xi Xi, the adorable stud of a lion who lends his joyous, fortuitous and celebratory connotations to any outfit.Â

Centring the range of designs is, of course, the Chinese bottle gourd, or Wulu—a foundational motif of the brand that represents good health, prosperity, long life, wealth, and abundance—brought to life through an array of dazzling interpretations.

The Wulu Fairy, for example, finds inspiration from the ancient cave murals of Dunhuang. The fluttering sleeves of the paintings’ celestial dancers are sculpted into three-dimensional Wulu forms with wavering lines and yellow diamonds beckoning for attention. The Wulu Shanshui range, on the other hand, depicts the motifs so cherished in Chinese landscape art within the curvaceous frame of the gourd, and outlines them with an array of precious gems.

Then, there’s the Wulu Diamond Lotus with full-bloomed flowers that showcase Qeelin's exclusive diamond cut within their petalled midst. Bearing 37 facets, the uniquely shaped, proprietary Wulu cut is an innovation that the brand developed so that it could shape diamonds into a gourd-like form.
With Miracle Garden, Qeelin continues its role as a cultural storyteller and heritage custodian, transforming age-old symbols into contemporary treasures. The results? Jewellery that is a poetic expression of identity and artistry, rendered in the earth’s most precious materials.
