ELLE Singapore hosted two intimate sharing sessions at FRED Jewelry’s Marina Bay Sands boutique, bringing together our friends of ELLE for an evening that celebrated the joy of fine jewellery.
Guests were welcomed by Caven Hamzah, Regional Brand Director at FRED Jewelry, and Olivier Burlot, CEO of Heart Media, who spoke about the synergy between ELLE Singapore and FRED Jewelry—two names synonymous with style, creativity, and storytelling. His opening remarks set the tone for a night of discovery and appreciation for the French Maison’s artistry.

The spotlight then turned to Charmaine Ho, Editor-in-Chief of ELLE Singapore, who took guests on a journey of the brand's history, recounting the story of founder Fred Samuel—an Argentinian-born, French jeweller whose South American vibrancy and Mediterranean ease became the soul of the brand.
Founded in the mid-1930s, the House of FRED quickly distinguished itself with contemporary designs worn by style icons such as Grace Kelly, Marlene Dietrich, Barbara Hutton, and Pablo Picasso. Today, the Maison continues to celebrate light, love, and freedom, creating jewellery for those who live with intensity and passion.

Charmaine guided guests through some of the Maison’s most celebrated creations. The Chance Infinie collection, launched in 2016 and inspired by the infinity symbol, serves as a modern talisman of renewal, empowerment, and limitless possibilities. The romantic Pretty Woman collection, first designed in 1990 for Julia Roberts in the iconic film of the same name, has evolved into a signature of love and self-gifting, reimagined in gold, hard stone marquetry, snow-set diamonds, and ingenious two-in-one rotating motifs. The bold Force 10, fusing sport and luxury, was born from a heartfelt gesture when Samuel’s son fashioned a bracelet from sailing cables for his wife. Its now-iconic cable-and-clasp design has become a symbol of strength, freedom, and versatility, with endless customisation options.

The evening’s pièce de résistance was the Maison’s latest innovation: The Hero Cut diamond buckle. Crafted with 36+1 facets, in a nod to the year of FRED’s founding in 1936, this brand-exclusive cut sparkles with impressive brilliance, with only about 15 pieces in the world at the time of publishing.
With champagne in hand and canapés to match, guests explored the boutique, tried on exquisite pieces, and captured keepsake moments. The night closed on a note of shared appreciation—not just for jewellery as adornment, but for the stories, history, and emotion each piece carries.
