Pimchanok Luevisadpaibul—better known as Baifern— has been in the public eye for more than half her life. Now 32, she’s evolved from wide-eyed ingénue to one of Asia’s most bankable stars, scooping up acting awards as well as global ambassadorships.

She exudes a calm assurance and quiet confidence, built from nearly two decades of navigating the highs and heartbreaks of the industry. Today, Baifern isn’t just appearing in hit dramas and feel-good rom-coms, she’s also Tiffany & Co.’s first Thai female ambassador, fronting campaigns that place her firmly on the international stage. And while her smile may be as radiant as ever, it now carries the weight of experience, and the self-assurance of a woman who truly knows herself.

Born in Dusit, Bangkok, Baifern trained in rhythmic gymnastics, a discipline that taught her both physical precision and emotional resilience. “As young as seven, I played roles like a tree or an animal in school plays,” she recalls during our chat with her in Tokyo, where she’s attending the opening of Tiffany & Co.’s Ginza flagship store, and where our cover shoot takes place. “I felt so happy doing it, and that’s when I knew I truly enjoyed acting.” Her first job, at the tender age of 12, was modelling kids’ shoes.

Those early years helped shape her confidence and perspective toward her craft. “My experiences as a kid have given me a lot of self-assurance and appreciation for acting today,” says Baifern. “Kids do everything with a certain earnestness and seriousness. They don’t have the techniques, special methods of acting… everything’s very natural, sincere and simplistic. This pure-heartedness is something we should all hold on to.”

A film graduate from Srinakharinwirot University (where she was conferred the Outstanding Student Award), Baifern stole hearts in the 2010 sleeper hit A Little Thing Called Love, where she played awkward schoolgirl Nong Nam who overhauls herself to capture her crush’s heart. Her performance in the rom-com resonated with audiences because it didn’t feel like she was acting; it was pure and honest—qualities that would follow her throughout her career.

Since then, Baifern has gone on to star in highly-rated Thai dramas and comedies, including Friend Zone (2019) and The Con-Heartist (2020), as well as Netflix’s AI Love You (2020). More recently, she portrayed a university student who undergoes plastic surgery to escape societal pressures in the drama series Beauty Newbie (2024) which is based on the 2018 South Korean drama My ID is Gangnam Beauty. The depth and breadth of her acting range was further tested in Thicha (2024), a revenge drama series in which her character loses her mother to a human trafficking ring.

Baifern views each acting project as a means to expand her emotional vocabulary. “Growing older and experiencing life has helped me overcome certain challenges in acting. As a child, for example, experiencing regret or remorse might seem difficult. But once you’ve lived it, you become more familiar with that feeling,” she explains. “My knowledge and understanding of things that I thought I knew have continuously widened and deepened. Even some of my regrets have faded with time [as I’ve gained more life experience], and I’m increasingly experiencing happiness in various areas. I still see myself as an actress five years down the road, and hopefully, I’ll be an even better one and continue to keep improving!”

Among her many accolades, Baifern won Best Female Lead at the 2022 ContentAsia Awards for A Tale of Ylang Ylang (2022) and made history as the first Thai star to earn the “Shining Actor of the Year” accolade at Weibo Night 2024—underscoring her growing regional and international appeal.

She tries to resist being boxed into any one genre. “I enjoy everything, whether it’s romantic comedies or very complex dramas—I find joy in all of them,” she says. “There are many roles I’d love to try. Even within similar genres, every character is different, so I think there’s always something new to discover.”

What draws her in is a mix of instinct and intention: “First is the script—whether it touches my heart, and strikes a chord with people.” She also considers logistical factors, such as scheduling, whether the timing is suitable, and how and where the project will be filmed. It’s a carefully considered balance of creative fulfilment and practical flow, but her North Star remains the same: The role or character has to allow her to connect with the audience.

Does she ever see herself stepping behind the camera as a director or writer? “I think about it quite often, actually,” she says. “There’s definitely a part of me that wants to direct, but I still feel like I need to gain a lot more experience. If I ever get the chance, I’d love to make a romantic film. I’ve always been drawn to love stories.”

As her acting career continues to blossom, her personal brand too, has taken on a life of its own—shaped not just by red-carpet moments or magazine spreads like this one, but by a consistent and often charmingly lo-fi presence on social media. On Instagram, where she has over 12 million followers, her feed is a rotating carousel of campaign images, travel snapshots and playful selfies. One moment she’s striking a pose at fashion week, and in the next, she’s eating greasy street food in baggy sweats. It’s this duality that makes her both irresistible and relatable.

In her downtime, she is refreshingly normal, like the rest of us. She enjoys music, meditates, watches shows on her phone, reads, naps—“probably my best talent”—and noshes on comfort food, such as her favourite basil minced pork rice with a fried egg. And just like us, she Googles everything. “I most recently searched: At what age is a dog’s fur the longest?” she laughs. “I don’t think there’s anything too surprising about me. I eat easily, sleep easily, and live simply.” She once said that when she’s not filming, her go-to uniform comprises baggy tops, slouchy bottoms and sneakers.

Off-screen, her quiet luminosity has made her a magnet for the fashion world. Besides her Tiffany & Co. coup, Baifern has also been appointed as an ambassador for brands such as Loewe, Onitsuka Tiger and SK-II.

She was named by Tiffany & Co. as their first Thai female ambassador in 2024. “It’s such an honour. I’m a huge fan of the brand. Tiffany jewellery gives me confidence when I wear it.” Her favourite pieces? “I like things that are simple. A lot of Tiffany’s pieces are minimal yet strong and timeless. I especially like the Tiffany Lock collection. The brand’s timeless elegance and classic beauty really resonate with me. In this partnership, I hope to represent enduring love, both through myself and the jewellery.”

On the subject of love, her two-year romance with 29-year-old actor Nine Naphat ended last year. The news of the amicable breakup—the couple’s on-screen chemistry spilled over to real life and they were dubbed Thailand’s golden pair—was met with an outpouring of public sympathy from disappointed fans. Baifern handled the split with the same discretion and grace that has defined much of her public life. “I still believe in love, but everything will happen in its own time,” she believes. “I just know that when love finds me, I’ll give it my all.”

It’s this ability to stay optimistic and open in a world that often demands armour that is Baifern’s charm. Whether navigating heartbreak or global fame, she moves through life with quiet strength. Her personal evolution didn’t come from dramatic reinvention, but through sincerity and self-awareness. Perhaps that’s the essence of Baifern: A woman who has evolved not by shedding who she was but by growing into herself—layer by layer, role by role. From a seven-year-old playing a tree to a regional star with global appeal, her rise has been defined not by flash, but by clarity of purpose.

After nearly 16 successful years in show business, Baifern has nothing to prove. She’s not chasing trends or applause, but meaning: Stories that matter, characters that resonate, love that feels real, and partnerships that reflect the person she has become. “I want to tell my future self to do as I’ve done so far: To fully immerse in and embrace happiness, and to give my all in everything I do, so I’ll have no regrets.”
