Everyone has a lucky number. For Fred Samuel, it was the number eight for its tie to his birth month (August), and birthday year (1908)—not to mention the age (28) at which he opened his first boutique under the arches of 6 rue Royale, Paris. Is it any surprise then that, on the occasion of its 80th anniversary in 2016, the brand would launch a jewellery collection based on this auspicious number?

Inspired by Samuel’s pioneering spirit, and his belief in self-made destiny, the collection’s central figure-eight motif doubles as a lemniscate (the symbol of infinity), turning the creations into talismans for eternal luck and fortune. This year, with the launch of new Chance Infinie designs, FRED Jewelry continues a story that is intricately tied to its founding, translating Samuel’s joie de vivre into creations that celebrate femininity, optimism, and the art of creating one’s own luck.

Comprising three high jewellery designs in white gold, and six fine jewellery editions in white and pink gold, the new Chance Infinie pieces bear ribbon-like tails that transform the curvaceous symbol into a feminine bow. Still present are the intertwining lines that speak of love and the interconnected threads of life and relationships. What’s different is that the creations now bear volume and textures that accentuate their tactile beauty. In addition to the trails of pavé diamonds found in its precursors, these Chance Infinie designs each come with a central pear-cut diamond cradled in its midst—delivering a promise for added sparkle with every motion and angle.
