Choo Yilin, a name long associated with contemporary jade design and heirloom-worthy pieces, is stepping confidently into its next evolution. Known for storytelling through gemstones and metalwork, the local jeweller introduces The Influencers Before Us, a campaign that casts Peranakan design in a new light: Not as an artefact of the past, but as a living, globally resonant language shaped by cultural exchange.

From its base in Singapore's heritage-rich enclave of Joo Chiat, the jeweller has spent years championing jade as a symbol of memory and meaning. Now, it scales that vision to the world, positioning Peranakan aesthetics as a product of centuries of cross-cultural creativity—a blend of Chinese, Malay, Indian and European influences that continues to inspire modern expression.
“Peranakan design wasn’t about preserving something untouched—it was about invention,” says founder and creative director Yilin Choo. “It challenged boundaries and created something entirely new. That spirit still matters today, especially in a world that often wants to categorise rather than combine.”

In conjunction with the campaign, the brand will stage a digital trunk show from 5 to 7 December 2025, offering global audiences access to both new releases and rare archival pieces. Central to the showcase is The Jade Clover Collection, the house’s first full launch since 2019, which includes two much-anticipated jade bangles crafted for brides. The event also introduces the Pomegranate Bell Detachable Drops — a first for the brand — alongside limited returns of beloved collections like Peranakan Lace and Warisan Diadem.
Only 11 one-of-one jade bangles will be available, and select pieces in 10k gold will debut below $260, expanding accessibility while keeping craftsmanship at the forefront. The showcase signals not just the close of the year, but the start of a renewed global chapter for Choo Yilin—one rooted in heritage, reinvention and the timeless allure of jade.
