If you’re looking for a Valentine’s staycation that feels calm, central and thoughtfully put together, METT Singapore is the place to be. It is owned and operated by Dubai-based Sunset Hospitality Group—the folks behind Mott 32 and Sushisamba—and is the first METT property in Asia-Pacific. Set within Fort Canning Park, the hotel offers a rare balance of greenery and city access—especially right for a romantic escape that favours intimacy over excess.

The hotel fitted with 84 rooms and suites occupies the former Hotel Fort Canning, a heritage building dating back to 1926 during the British Occupation, that has been carefully updated. Its original structure remains intact, while the interiors have been refreshed with clean lines, warm finishes and a subtle colonial influence. The result is a destination that feels timeless yet very much of the now, where old-world elegance meets modern quiet luxury.

The romance begins the moment you step into your room. Light-filled and spacious, the suites are designed to breathe: high ceilings, plush furnishings and wide windows that frame lush views of Fort Canning’s greenery.  Step outside and you are minutes from Fort Canning MRT, Clarke Quay’s dining and nightlife, and the shopping belt around Dhoby Ghaut. You get the convenience of the city without feeling like you’re in the middle of it.

Days at METT unfold gently. You might spend the afternoon lounging by one of the pools, playing a game of pickleball, wandering hand in hand through the park’s shaded paths, or simply doing very little at all—which, for Valentine’s, feels like the ultimate luxury. Spa hedonists can also look forward to the opening of Madison House, a private members’ club, which features The Longevity Suite, a cutting-edge wellness haven where biohacking meets holistic indulgence.

As evening approaches, dining becomes the heartbeat of the experience. The highlight is undoubtedly L’Amo Bistrò del Mare, an Italian coastal restaurant helmed by Michelin-starred chef Daniele Sperindio. Set against the greenery of Fort Canning, the restaurant serves refined Italian dishes with a focus on seafood and handmade pastas. If you’re lucky, you might get to enjoy live piano sets, too.

For Valentine’s Day, L’Amo offers a special five-course dinner ($188++ per person) with complimentary bubbly. Highlights include a starter of whipped burrata bruschetta, Irish oyster and kingfish tartare; handmade 32-egg-yolk Campanelle with Boston lobster; salt-baked sea bass; and maple-leaf smoked duck breast.

If your idea of the perfect date starts with a drink, Canning Bar & Lounge offers an equally seductive alternative. By day, it’s an elegant living room for coffee and conversation; by night, it transforms into a softly lit cocktail lounge where Champagne flows easily and small plates encourage sharing. On 14 and 15 February, couples can indulge in a Love in Bloom Afternoon Tea ($88++ per person), featuring a sumptuous selection of Valentine’s-inspired savoury creations, accompanied by freshly baked scones served from a roaming trolley.

What is so perfect about vacationing here isn’t just the setting or the dining—it’s the gentle rhythm of the place. In a city that rarely slows down, this place offers something very rare: An invitation to pause and just enjoy each other. Here, the venue creates plenty of quiet nooks and corners for love to unfold naturally, whether that means dressing up for an Italian dinner under the stars, or staying in and watching the city lights flicker through the trees.

Rooms start from $625++ (including tax & service). Book a stay between 13 and 15 February 2026 and enjoy a complimentary bottle of Champagne on ice, Valentine’s amenities, a five-course dinner at L’Amo Bistrò del Mare, breakfast for two, and late check-out (subject to availability).
