Blackpink’s Jisoo and Zayn have teamed up for the first time for their new single, “Eyes Closed.” Released on October 10, the song captures the beginning of a new romance, with the pair trading bars throughout. They express hesitation given their past experiences but ultimately pursue their feelings. In the pre-chorus, they sing, “’Cause someone like me and someone like you / Really shouldn’t work, yeah, the history is proof / Damned if I don’t, damned if I do / You know, by now, we’ve seen it all.”
Later, they add, “The beds we’ve been in, the names and the faces of who we were with / And, oh, ain’t nobody perfect, but it’s all good / The past can’t hurt us if we don’t look / Let’s let it go, better if we fall in love with our eyes closed.”
Jisoo celebrated the release with an Instagram post featuring photos of her and Zayn, writing, “Something very special we’ve been working on is finally out.🪐 I hope this song reaches many hearts. Let’s never forget that everything we’ve been through was for the future. @Zayn—working with you has been truly special. I’m so grateful for your kindness and your incredible voice. ♥️”
In the photo dump, she also included a snapshot of a bouquet of flowers Zayn gave her. The arrangement featured a note that read, “Jisoo, it’s here! HAPPY RELEASE DAY! Big Love, Zayn.”

They also released a music video featuring cosmic, futuristic visuals that show them traveling through space. When they share scenes together, the two coordinate in matching all-black outfits.
