Fashion month is in full throttle. The season has made its intentions clear, and the air is crackling with possibility. With its convergence of ideas and points of view, it’s a time that reminds us style is never passive. It is declarative, deliberate, and made all the more powerful with a clear sense of self and identity.

And so, for March 2026, we set about crafting an issue that brings all of this to the fore—so that you can step fully into a role tailor-made for you: The protagonist. Not a side character, nor a supporting role. But a woman in the centre of her own narrative, authoring her next chapter. Our cover stars, actors Cheryl Chou and Sheryl Ang, embody that quality innately.

Cheryl, the self-professed hustler, moves through life with perspective and assurance, embracing imperfection as part of the plot. As she reflects in our cover story: “What I’ve come to realise is that it’s really about perspective, the challenges you face teach you a lot about life.” Sheryl, the empath and disruptor, on the other hand, questions everything—rejecting dated tropes about feminine passivity and choosing instead to write her own rules. “There’s still this idea that women are docile. I don’t think that’s realistic, and honestly,” she says, “it’s very outdated.”

Together, they remind us that “main character energy” isn’t about being the loudest person in the room. It is about presence and confidence that comes with self-knowledge and conviction. Much like Teyana Taylor—actor, musician, choreographer and 2026 Golden Globe winner—our revelation of the month, who proves that reinvention is its own form of authorship.

Elsewhere in the issue, our spring/summer 2026 Trend Report distils the dominant shifts and charts a season that swings from the functional to the fantastical—because every heroine needs both armour and escapism. On that note, “Gilded Romance” taps into the fascination with the movie Wuthering Heights (starring the marvellous Margot Robbie), and charts the beauty of Georgian jewellery—before presenting the modern day heirlooms that let you indulge in that sensibility with ease.

So consider this your invitation to dress with conviction, step into the frame, and tell your story. No one can do it better than you.
