In an exclusive interview with ELLE Singapore, join Worth The Wait actors Ross Butler, Tan Kheng Hua, and Lim Yu-beng for tea as they share their experiences working on the cross-cultural romantic comedy. Directed by Taiwanese filmmaker Tom Lin, the film follows four Asian families in Seattle and Kuala Lumpur whose lives intersect in one unforgettable encounter.
“In the marketing [for the film], we talk about it being an all-Asian cast. But within five minutes of the movie, it’s immaterial,” says Tan. Beyond romance, Worth The Wait delves into intergenerational trauma, grief and heartbreak. “Some stories, some characters that you feel closer to will move you more," she adds.
Watch as the cast open up about their time on set, going beyond the limits of Hollywood and what kind of representation matters most to them.
