For over two decades, Jung Ji-hoon—best known as Rain—has been a mainstay in the South Korean music scene. The singer-songwriter and dancer initially debuted in a boy band in his teens before going solo in 2002—and the rest was history. Armed with charismatic dance moves and husky vocals, Rain swept through the world in the 2000s, becoming one of K-pop’s most iconic stars.

Rain’s achievements have only grown over the years, evolving from a rising star into an accomplished actor. He first captured hearts in the K-drama classic Full House alongside Song Hye-kyo, one of his earliest breakout roles, and has since headlined recent series like Ghost Doctor and Red Swan. Beyond the spotlight, the multihyphenate has also established his own eponymous entertainment agency.

Ahead of his New Year’s Eve performance at the inaugural Singland Festival, ELLE Singapore caught up with Rain to find out what he is most excited to show fans at the upcoming show, how he stays motivated and his favourite things to do when in town.
