Until 5 January 2026, the exhibition celebrates the Italian jeweller’s storied artistic and artisanal legacy — bringing Buccellati’s vision of timeless beauty to one of the world’s most dynamic luxury capitals, after its critically acclaimed debut in Venice in 2024
This Shanghai edition significantly broadens the scope of that retrospective with four newly conceived exhibition rooms. Visitors are invited to explore 250 exceptional creations, comprising 150 jewellery pieces and 100 decorative works in silver, that reflect the Maison’s distinctive aesthetic language and technical virtuosity.

Architectural elements inspired by classical design—columns, symmetry, and balanced proportions—form the exhibition’s visual backbone, while contemporary multimedia installations offer deeper insight into the origins of Buccellati’s most iconic creations. Together, they illuminate the meticulous techniques refined and passed down over four generations to present a dialogue between tradition and modernity.

The exhibition’s opening marked a particularly poignant moment for the Maison. Members of the Buccellati family, including representatives of its newest generation, made the journey to Shanghai to personally inaugurate the exhibition. Their presence underscored the continuity of a living heritage in which craftsmanship, creativity, and family stewardship remain inseparable from the jeweller’s identity.
The exhibition’s title draws inspiration from a phrase coined by Italian poet Gabriele D’Annunzio in 1936, who famously referred to Mario Buccellati as “The Prince of Goldsmiths.” It was a tribute to his extraordinary ability to elevate precious metals into objects of enduring artistry. And this is an ethos that continues to define Buccellati today. With the exhibition, Buccellati reveals not only its past, but the timeless relevance of its artistry today.
