Before Atipa became one of Thailand’s most recognisable fashion labels, it began as a modest teenage side hustle. Founded over a decade ago by Atipa herself at just 18, the brand was born out of a practical desire to earn extra income. What started with reselling her own wardrobe and sourcing pieces from Pratunam—a bustling wholesale district in Bangkok—soon evolved into producing original designs of her own.
The label quickly found a devoted Gen Z following, thanks to its unapologetic celebration of self-expression and confidence across all sizes and genders. Much of its momentum has been fuelled by social media, where candid, unpolished content—often filmed casually at home—struck a chord well beyond Thailand. That authenticity has since caught the attention of stars including Win Metawin, Gulf Kanawut, Freen Sarocha, Becky Armstrong and Keng Harit.
Now, with a Singapore pop-up on the horizon, Atipa is set to bring the brand’s irreverent energy to Southeast Asia’s fashion capital—an organic next chapter in its expanding international journey. In an exclusive interview, Atipa shares more about the brand’s evolution, the upcoming pop-up, and her vision for what lies ahead.

What motivated you to start Atipa?
“I started Atipa around 11 to 13 years ago, when I was just 18. At the time, the motivation was simple—I was a student who loved to travel but didn’t have much of a budget. I began by selling my own second-hand clothes, before sourcing pieces from Pratunam to resell.
But I quickly realised that I hate missing opportunities. Whenever customers wanted an item that was sold out, it felt like a loss. That frustration pushed me to start manufacturing my own designs, so I could take control of both stock and style. That, in many ways, was the true beginning of Atipa.”
Atipa is known for its playful, Y2K-inspired aesthetic. How do you bring nostalgia and fun into each collection?
"I grew up loving that era of fashion! We focus on colours, crop cuts, and silhouettes that are fun and sexy but still wearable in daily life (especially in hot weather!). We bring that nostalgia by mixing retro elements—like baby tees and low-rise jeans—with modern fabrics that fit today’s body types. It’s about taking the 'fun' energy of the 2000s and making it accessible for the Gen Z lifestyle."

What are some of your most popular pieces?
"Our signature items are definitely our crop tops and tank tops (like the Alixia Crop or Caller Rayon tops). They are affordable, come in many colours, and fit perfectly. Our jeans, especially the wide-leg and cargo styles, are also massive hits because we design them to fit Thai and Asian proportions perfectly while keeping that 'Western' look."
Why do you think Atipa resonates so strongly with Gen Z?
"I think it’s our authenticity and speed. We are a 'Fast Fashion' brand that actually listens. We are huge on TikTok, and I often go live myself. A huge turning point for us was when a candid clip of me wearing our clothes (filmed by my boyfriend) went viral. Gen Z appreciates that we are real—we show the clothes on real bodies, not just models. Plus, we champion body positivity and create clothes that make people feel confident regardless of their size, which is something this generation really values."

Stars like Win Metawin, Gulf Kanawut, Freen, Becky, and Keng Harit have been spotted wearing Atipa. How does it feel seeing them in your pieces?
"It is an incredible honour! Seeing stars like Win and Gulf wear our pieces is especially exciting because it shows that fashion has no gender—our designs can be styled by anyone. It validates our hard work and puts Thai fashion on the global map. It makes me feel like we are truly reaching a 'world-class' standard."
What can customers expect from the Singapore pop-up?
"They can expect the full 'Atipa Energy'! We are bringing our best-selling viral items so you can finally try them on in person. Expect exclusive drops, lots of colours, and a space designed for content creation. It’s going to be a fun, immersive experience, not just a shop."

Looking ahead, what are your aspirations for the future of Atipa?
"My goal is for Atipa to be a top-of-mind brand globally, not just in Thailand. I want to continue expanding our size range and categories, ensuring that everyone can enjoy fashion. We are looking forward to more international pop-ups and collaborations. I want to prove that a local Thai brand started by a student can grow into a global fashion staple."
