The first fashion shows of the year always reveal what's next for menswear. It's the time for doubling down on both tailoring trends and the new sportswear tropes to try.
Over the last few days, first in Milan and then in Paris, the world's biggest brands have revealed how they're dressing the uomos and hommes of the world for autumn/winter 2026. And it turns out there's much to glean for everyone looking to add a little sartorial update at the start of the year—regardless of what section you usually choose to shop in.
From the new way to carry your Louis Vuitton bag (yes, really) to the Jonathan Anderson-backed way to try denim, these are the styling tips to try immediately. Go forth, chaps.

Paul Smith

Not-so-straight forward tailoring has long been this British designer's beat. For AW26, no change. Here, Paul Smith put forward the idea of introducing floral-printed tailoring. The most interesting thing to takeaway now? The proposition of wearing blazer jackets worn open and paired with louche black denim.
Prada

A flash of a little something seen peaking from underneath something else is a Prada signature, often seen in Miuccia Prada's own wardrobe, too. A big motif seen at Mrs P and Raf Simons' latest menswear collection was the employment of a statement cuff (and a notably absent collar.) Get your scissors at the ready and hack a shirt to recreate this look immediately. Pay close attention to interesting colour combinations, too.
Ralph Lauren

The Sloane Ranger has been pressing for a grand return for the last few seasons, and the latest appearance of its favourite styling hacks came thick and fast at Ralph Lauren. An easy one to employ ASAP, all this takes is the pairing of your favourite rugby jersey and a silk scarf fastened at the neck. A polo jumper worn underneath adds additional depth.

Lous Vuitton

Less of a styling hack, more of a habit. This Louis Vuitton move calls for us to take a break from carrying bags by their top handle and to scrunch them up under our arm instead. Not one for the morning commute when your laptop has to be lugged around, but perfect for relaxed weekend moments.
Giorgio Armani

Conversation on the ELLE fashion desk has recently had us touting the idea of a return to the collarless jacket and Giorgio Armani affirmed it with its khaki option. When worn with matching trousers, it offers a fresh update to tailoring. Take note now and shop styles similar immediately.

Dior

A jeans and jacket endures under the guidance of Jonathan Anderson's Dior. What becomes the point of difference for the new season here is the idea of teaming a neat, tweedy jacket with cargo-like denim complete with utility-style pockets. As always in fashion styling, it's contrast that often makes for the most interesting combinations and this look—and styling tip—serves as a clear case in point.
This was first seen in ELLE UK.
