After nearly a decade of working at her craft, Olivia Dean’s win for Best New Artist at the 2026 Grammy Awards certainly felt like a victory that was a long time coming. The London-born singer took home the trophy on Sunday night—undoubtedly a fitting conclusion to a remarkable year in the spotlight after the release of her 2025 album, The Art of Loving.
On the red carpet, the singer appeared in a stunning black-and-white gown by Chanel (and of course, her newly-minted Grammy award). The dress’s bodice sported embroidered black sequins, and a drop waist embellished with feathers, silk tubes, and organza petals. Completing the look, Dean wore a pair of dainty black-and-white Chanel heels, which peeped out of her dramatic double satin skirt.

Just before her Grammy win, the singer also took to the stage in another Chanel set: A brilliant red sequinned cotton mini dress and gold Chanel stilettos. There, she performed “Man I Need,” her breakout hit, known for its upbeat R&B melody and flirty lyrics. Released in August 2025, the song climbed to the top spot a month later on the UK Singles Chart, and peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100.
In her acceptance speech for Best New Artist, Dean thanked her family and friends, ending off with: “I’m up here as a granddaughter of an immigrant. I’m a product of bravery and I think those people deserve to be celebrated. We’re nothing without each other. Thank you so much, I love you.”
