This January, ELLE Singapore partnered with LASALLE College of the Arts to bridge academic learning and industry practice. The six-month initiative challenged the students from the Diploma in Creative Direction for Fashion programme to conceive and produce an editorial spread centred on “High Summer”, with the strongest concepts set to appear on the magazine’s print and digital platforms.

With just a month to go before the final showcase, the students were hard at work refining their ideas into fully realised execution plans. This process mirrors the demands of editorial production, calling for concepts that balance creativity with strategic thinking. The work must also demonstrate an understanding of brand DNA, audience alignment, and cultural relevance—hallmarks of ELLE Singapore’s editorial voice.

Needless to say, the stakes are high: The rigorous selection process will see just three out of 15 concepts being brought to life for the pages of ELLE Singapore’s June 2026 issue. The selected students are also expected to produce a related short-form video for its website and social media channels.

Guided by the magazine’s editorial team, the process marks a shift from theoretical exploration to industry-ready execution. It is, ultimately, a test of both vision and viability—where ideas are first imagined, then realised. Here’s a look at some of the students’ work in progress.
