Abduct Cosmetics

If you're looking to add to your makeup arsenal, Abduct Cosmetics is the place to go to when it comes to the base. Created by Singapore's own Savina Chow and Indonesian content creator Cath Halim, Blunnies offers consumers deodorant ($12.90 each) that is just as effective as it is affordable without the nasties. Coming in three scents, the brand's signature quick-dry formula features brightening ingredients rainbow algae, probiotics, aloe vera, probiotics, hyaluronic acid, and AHAs to condition, moisturise, and smooth while neutralising odour all day long.

Crystal Tomato

Hyperpigmentation is the norm, but Crystal Tomato offers a safe, lasting solution to that. Founded in 2013 by Catherine Tan, it is formulated with colourless carotenoids—harnessed from non-genetically modified white tomatoes—for clearer, healthier, radiant skin and a long-lasting solution to stubborn pigment. Maison De L’Asie bridges timeless French perfumery with the rich tapestry of Asia, offering fragrance as a multisensory cultural experience. Created by Elizabeth Liau in 2020, the local perfume brand uses the finest ingredients to create scents that capture memories and unfold on the skin. Within its collection, a favourite of ours is Terre D'Inde Extrait de Parfum ($298 for 50ml), which immerses you in India's lush landscape with notes of bitter orange, orris, saffron, incense, and sandalwood, and Nanyang Extrait de Parfum ($298 for 50ml), a floral-woody-musk fragrance blending black and green tea, white florals, bergamot, and leather.

Anyone familiar with the local beauty scene would be familiar with Maison 21G. Having created some of the perfume world's most famous scents, including La Vie est Belle by Lancôme, One Million by Paco Rabanne, and Flower Bomb by Viktor & Rolf, Johanna Monange built the local fragrance brand with the vision of allowing individuals to create their own fragrances using clean, vegan, and sustainably sourced ingredients. Sparked by a PCOS diagnosis, sisters Maya and Mili Kale created the brand in 2021 to offer holistic, personalised, expert-backed supplements curated with Asian women in mind. We recommend Yu Cha ($$65.90), a refreshing zesty-tea unisex scent with notes such as mandarin orange, green tea, orange blossom, and vetiver.

Some things we avoid because they feel like a hassle; In this case, Nodspark is here to simplify some of beauty's trickiest products. Founded by Eugenia Ye-Yeo in 2017, it offers quick, fuss-free products that suit our busy lifestyles. Tried-and-tested, its self-adhesive Lazy Lashes with the clear band ($39.90) add much-needed volume, and they last all day.

Scent By SIX offers a mood booster in a bottle. Founded by Jason Lee, the local perfume brand envisions scents can soothe, energise, and give emotional support. With sustainably sourced materials and collaborations with marginalised communities and mental health partners like the Singapore Association for Mental Health (SAMH) and Caregivers Alliance Limited (CAL), it truly embraces its motto of "Every Mood Lifted". Among its creations include True Self EDP ($136 for 50ml), a floral fragrance all about self-acceptance, featuring notes such as bergamot, chamomile, muguet, musk, mimosa, and violet leaf.

Sigi Skin

Sigi Skin has been a mainstay on the Singapore beauty scene and for good reason. Founded in 2018 by Xenia Wong, the skincare brand offers superfood-infused skincare to effectively protect and repair skin damage caused by environmental stressors and pollution. With sunshine all year round, the Morning Glow Physical Sunscreen ($62) is the mainstay in our beauty routines as the hydrating vegan sunscreen not only contains UVA/UVB protection, but avocado and acai extracts to counteract the effects of the sun's infrared rays while keeping skin supple and youthful.

Singapore Memories

If you're a tourist or a local looking to something that screams Singapore, the scents from Singapore Memories are your best bet. Launched in 2016 by Prachi Saini, their perfumes are crafted to capture the country's vibrant culture, traditions, and, of course, blooming orchids. A beloved 1960's scent, the brand acquired the formula to Singapore Girl ($35), an elegant floral scent of lotus, water lily, and teakwood.

Skin Inc

Having won over 150 beauty awards over the years, Skin Inc is a pillar in the local beauty scene. Founded in 2008 by Sabrina Tan, the skincare brand uses clinically active ingredients, AI-powered insights, and Japanese encapsulated technology to create personalised solutions across every season of your life.
