We’re welcoming the start of 2025 with yet another Golden Globes—the harbinger of the glitzy, glamorous awards show season we watch from our homes every year. While the awards portion of the evening is meant to be the star of the show, the beauty looks are what keep the ELLE beauty team’s eyes glued to our TV screens. After all, what we see here tonight will inevitably be echoed on the rest of the red carpets in the coming months and the beauty trends that will dominate our social media feeds. We like to stay informed, and we know you do too.

If you want to know what’s on the come-up for 2025, just take a look at Eiza González and Cate Blanchett’s side parts, which hint that the Gen Z-approved middle part may be on its way out. Also, if the makeup of stars like Ali Wong and Amy Adams is any indication, nude lips are back with a vengeance and even more effortless than ever—almost like they’re wearing a slightly tinted lip treatment and nothing more. Nails also followed suit, with nude and white polishes dominating the scene. Some might say it’s boring, but we like to see it as classic. Another timeless look? The smoky eye we saw gracing the faces of Kerry Washington, Mindy Kaling, and more.

Below, you can check out the absolute best beauty looks we saw on the 81st annual Golden Globe Awards red carpet—and the products you can use to emulate them at home.

Zendaya

While middle parts have reigned supreme for the past few years, 2025 might just mark the triumphant return of the long-eschewed side part. After seeing how gorgeous it looks on these stars, we’re left wondering: Why did we ever abandon them?

Zendaya’s stylist Coree Moreno constructed her Old Hollywood bob by setting the hair with hard rollers and pins before perfecting each lock with the Ghd Curve Classic Curl Iron.

Kerry Washington

Grungy 2000s makeup à la the Olsen twins of the early aughts has recaptured everyone’s hearts. Smoky eyes have never really gone out of style, but they feel more relevant than ever. If Kerry Washington’s matte and dark eyeshadow look (created by celebrity makeup artist Carola Gonzalez with Beauty Pie’s Wondercolour Longwear Cream Shadow Stick in Vanilla Whirl the deepest shade in the James Molloy Deluxe Eyeshadow Quad) is a bit too intense for you, try easing in with a softer approach like Jackie Tohn.

Side note: If you were admiring Washington’s picture-perfect and ultra-shiny locks, you can achieve the look yourself using Pattern Beauty’s Shine Spray to prevent frizz and add a glow as well as the brand’s Edge Control to flatten flyaways. “For Kerry Washington’s Golden Globes look, the inspiration was modern sophistication with a sleek, glossy finish that perfectly complemented her vibrant hot pink Balenciaga dress,” celebrity hairstylist Takisha Sturdivant Drew shared in a press release. “The aim was to achieve a ‘glass effect’ shine that exuded effortless elegance.”

Rachel Brosnahan

Celebrity makeup artist Lisa Aharon used a regimen of Yon-ka Paris products—including the Hydra N°1 Serum, Time Resist Jour, and Vital Defense Mist to ensure that Rachel Brosnahan’s skin was hydrated, smooth, and radiant for the red carpet.

Additionally, Aharon finished off the look with a few spritzes of Phlur’s newest fragrance Golden Rule, which launched on January 7. “It’s warm, luxurious, and the perfect finishing touch for Rachel’s Golden Globes vibe,” shared Aharon via a press release.

Amy Adams

2024 was the year of the tinted lip balm—it felt like every brand came out with their own version, and we loved them all. As a result, many of us put down our bolder lipsticks and went with my-lips-but-better products that enhanced our own lip colors rather than hide them. Amy Adams, Zoë Saldaña, and others did the same tonight, opting for flattering, natural-looking hues.

Meanwhile, Adams’s hair was also a total showstopper, even though celebrity hairstylist John D designed a more effortless, lowkey look. He made sure to work a few drops of Olaplex’s No. 7 Bonding Oil through her mane, adding both protection from hot tools and enhancing shine.

Finally, Adams’s finger and toenails got a layer of subtle shimmer with Deborah Lippmann’s Gel Lab Pro Color Nail Polish in Dirty Little Secret.

Demi Moore

Want to recreate Demi Moore’s barely there lip at home? All you have to do is line your lips with Dior’s Rouge Dior Contour in #259 Nude Ribbon and add a thin layer of Dior’s Dior Addict Lip Glow Oil in #061 Poppy Coral.

Zoë Saldaña

Zoë Saldaña always looks incredible, but her cheekbones look especially sculpted, in part due to a facial with celebrity facialist Lord Gavin McLeod-Valentine. As part of the treatment, McLeod-Valentine applied the Augustinus Bader The Face Cream Mask before utilizing cryo sticks to encourage lymphatic drainage. Also behind Saldaña’s glow tonight was a session with CurrentBody’s LED Light Therapy Face Mask: Series 2. “Having that red light effect on her face to give me the radiance that I need is the perfect way to start a beautiful day at the Golden Globes,” celebrity makeup artist Vera Steimberg revealed in a press release.

Additionally, celebrity hairstylist Mara Roszak achieved Saldaña’s flawless ponytail by first blowing out the hair with the L’Oreal AirLight Pro until every strand with straight and sleek. She also used the RŌZ Evergreen Style Cream to smooth and nourish the strands and the Santa Lucia Styling Oil to tame flyaways and keep the updo looking shiny.

Mikey Madison

I don’t know about you, but Mikey Madison’s absolutely flawless under eyes also caught my attention. Luckily for us, we have the scoop on how they were prepped. After treating Madison’s skin to a few minutes with the CurrentBody LED Light Therapy Face Mask: Series 2, makeup artist Melissa Hernandez applied a small dollop of the G.M. Collin Bota-Peptides Eye Contour. But the real magic happened when she placed a pair of the G.M. Collin Instant Radiance Eye Patches under the eyes and kept them on while working on the rest of Madison’s face. “They help depuff, hydrate, and brighten, leaving the undereye area smooth and refreshed,” Hernandez said in a press release.

Hernandez completed Madison’s base with a thin layer of Armani Beauty’s Luminous Silk Foundation in shades 1.5 and 3 as well as a few dots of the Luminous Silk Perfect Glow Concealer in shades 1.5 and 3 to further brighten the under eye area.

Finally, celebrity hairstylist Rena Calhoun sculpted Madison’s cascading mane with a combination of various Olivia Garden styling tools. While drying the hair with the Super HP Hair Dryer, she used the Eco Ceramic Soft Bristle Round Brush to add volume and smooth out the strands. And she picked up the 1.5” Titanium + Ion Curling Iron to create the loose waves.

Cynthia Erivo

Celebrity makeup artist Joanna Simkin prevented Cynthia Erivo’s lips from feeling or looking dehydrated by prepping them with Summer Fridays’s beloved Lip Butter Balms in Vanilla Beige and Iced Coffee. Simkin also sprayed Erivo’s face with Benefit Cosmetics’s The Porefessional Super Setter to lock everything in place for the night.

Ali Wong

While prepping Wong’s skin, celebrity makeup artist Daniel Martin applied Tatcha’s new vitamin C-packed The Brightening Eye Cream and The Brightening Serum. “I then topped off the no-makeup makeup look with the Make Up For Ever Artist Color Pencil Longwear Lip Liner in Wherever Walnut and a matte Dior lipstick in a nude shade (Rouge Dior Forever Nude 100) to complement, not detract, from the vibrantly-hued dress,” Martin told ELLE.

Felicity Jones

The Brutalist actress Felicity Jones wore her hair in an effortless updo on the red carpet. According to celebrity hairstylist Bridget Brager, the Hair Rituel by Sisley Paris Volumizing Spray helped “keep the up-do up and also [thickened] the strands," she said in a press release.

Miley Cyrus

Slicked back buns have stepped aside to make room for these undone updos. Instead of sweeping every single hair back and securing it all with a gel or pomade, Miley Cyrus let down some face-framing strands. And Bob Recine added plenty of volume to Cyrus’s “punk” updo with a generous helping of Nexxus’s XXL Volume Medium Hold Hairspray.

Ashley Graham

Ashley Graham’s hairstyle got a boost of volume and length thanks to a few of the Bellami Silk Seam Clip-In Extensions—if your hair color matches hers, try the extensions in the shade Mochachino Brown.

Graham kept the rest of her look simple with a neutral makeup look. As the finishing touch, celebrity makeup artist Ivan Núñez layered Revlon’s ColorStay Multi-Liner in Dynamic Doer, Super Lustrous Glass Shine Balm in Nude Illuminator, and Super Lustrous Lipstick in Bare It All on the supermodel’s lips.
