As this season comes to a close, it's safe to say runway hair and make-up did not disappoint. In New York, Tory Burch made a convincing case for '90s greige smoky eyes; London saw Harris Reed's spidery eyelashes take centre stage, and Antonio Marras went for gold in Milan with a string of shimmering, foiled lips.

While these looks are all worthy of a shoutout when it comes to fall/winter 2025 beauty trends, it's Paris Fashion Week that typically leads the charge. Known best for its prestigious roster of luxury labels (think Chanel, Dior, Givenchy, Saint Laurent, Hermès), Paris has long been hailed for its timeless approach to fashion. In turn, we've come to expect classic sophistication when it comes to its beauty appeal. Every season, Paris Fashion Week presents its own iteration of the red lip, the winged eyeliner and the undone wave, but occasionally the catwalk will also send out an abstract, other-worldly beauty moment.

Forget cat eyes and winged liners, these 3D embellishments are the ultimate fall/winter 2025 eye look. An essential aspect of 2014-2016 beauty ensembles (if you know, you know), extra large strip lashes took a backseat when clean girl make-up came onto the scene. Now, they're being reimagined on the runway.

Vaquera showcased an intense, fluttery array of firework-resembling extensions for its fall/winter 2025 runway, pairing the look with a pared-back complexion and delicately contoured lip. These spiky rows were applied to both the top and bottom lash lines, making for the ultimate 360-degree drama. Meanwhile, Courrèges kept the eyes graphic and defined with a wispy pairing of two butterfly antenna style appliqués.

Elevated waves are no stranger to the runway, but this season's hairstyling is storytelling at its best. From Paloma Wool's 'romantic librarian' ponytails to Ann Demeulemeester's witch-worthy tresses, adding a lived-in wisp to the hair is an essential aspect of this season's runway. The most coveted look of all? The tousled and carefree Woodstock wave.

Woodstock Waves

The most wearable of the looks comes courtesy of Authentic Beauty Concept and Dyson at Chloé's fall/winter 2025 display. "The idea is a confident girl who gets up, leaves the house and doesn’t mind if she sleeps on her hair— it’s all about a real, nice, gentle, and easy feel," says key hairstylist Gary Gill. "For this season's Chloé show, we wanted to create a look that felt organic, yet refined—an effortless elegance that enhances each model’s natural beauty. The inspiration came from the essence of modern femininity; it’s about embracing texture and movement while maintaining a sense of softness."

An airy texture spray is an essential aspect of this look, naturally. If you're looking for a slightly sleeker iteration, look to Zimmermann's trailing set of crimped waves.

Lipstick-By-Numbers

From the arrival of Rhode's coveted contours to Billie Eilish's viral stain, it's no secret that lip liners are having a moment in 2025. And while they've always had somewhat of a presence on the runway, typically used to create crisp edges on red pouts or to add natural definition to no make-up looks, this season lip liners are looking more avant-garde than ever.

At Vivienne Westwood's fall/winter 2025 show, clashing lip liner and lipstick tones were applied to create a theatrical, colouring book allure. Whether it's dramatic blacks paired with fiery crimsons or rich browns paired with hot pinks, there's a version of this look for everyone in this playful catwalk display. Feeling creative? Zomer's inverted lip liner application creates a subtle illusion that's fascinating to the untrained eye.

Shape-Shifting Hair

We've come to expected lacquered lengths on the runway; they're editorial, otherworldly and effortless to achieve. This season, however, they've arrived with a two-toned twist; gelled-up roots cascading into dry, wispy ends.

At Acne Studios, models’ hair played on the duality of the Swedish brand’s fall/winter 2025 collection. "The inspiration came from the duality between nature and technology," shares hairstylist, Anthony Turner. "It was very androgynous, with very low side partings, and we left the back down to allow for a natural, and effortless texture," he noted backstage. The result was a half-wet, half-dry finish, which plays on the growing trend for slicked-back hair and was created using the jelly and serum by Schwarzkopf. "We used the serum to give it a fresh sheen so it felt very healthy and very luxurious, with a salon-quality finish."

At Issey Miyake, a similar (but arguably sleeker) iteration was on show. Turner created a mirror-shine across the lengths, which switched between a slick-back styling to a glossy, pin-straight finish on the tips. If you're keen on trying a wet hair look in 2025, this is the chicest version to trial at home.

XL Wings

Cast your liquid liners aside; this season's extravagant wing is joining forces with the graphic smoky eye. Chanel's painterly swoops were just one example of the exaggerated design, though there were plenty dispersed throughout the season.

The best part? This elevated eyeshadow application can be adapted to any deepened shade. Just look to Elie Saab, where deep bronzed tones were used to create an equally dramatic, but tonally flattering smokiness. The key is the keep the brow bone clear and highlighted, elongating your wings out towards your temples.
