Karl Lagerfeld & Choupette

The late fashion legend’s Birman cat wasn’t just a pet, she was an icon. Adopted in 2011, Choupette lived a life of luxury: chartered jets, her own iPad, and a staff of two maids. She fronted campaigns for Shu Uemura, starred in a biography, and reportedly had a net worth that would make your influencer friend weep. She even declined an invitation to the 2023 Met Gala held in Karl Lagerfeld's honour. Power move.

Demi Moore & Pilaf

Pilaf is five inches tall, weighs just under a kilogram, and might be the only chihuahua to have toured the Louvre Museum. Since Demi Moore adopted her in 2021, the pint-sized pup has even sat front row at Paris Fashion Week, flown across the Atlantic 14 times, and starred in more than a few paparazzi shots. As Demi says, “She fits in my coat.”

Paris Hilton & Diamond Baby

Diamond Baby, Paris Hilton’s beloved teacup Chihuahua, was adopted in 2016 and quickly became the crown jewel of her ever-rotating fur family. She starred in Cooking with Paris, had brand campaigns to himself, and even had her own Hermès bag (a micro Kelly charm). Sadly, she went missing in 2022, but Paris still refers to her as “the love of my life.”

Tilda Swinton & Louis

Louis is a rescue Spaniel from the Scottish Highlands, and he’s already got a better IMDb debut than most actors. He starred alongside Tilda Swinton in 2022’s The Eternal Daughter, where he played, what else? Himself. According to Swinton, Louis was such a natural that she even joked that he was the "true star" of the movie and almost hired a dog psychologist to interpret his performance.

Miley Cyrus & Bubba Sue

Adopted in 2014, Bubba Sue, aka Pig Pig, was Miley Cyrus’s potbellied partner-in-chaos. She lounged on velvet cushions, posed for Instagram in a Bangerz bandana, and once upstaged Cyrus in a backyard photoshoot. Cyrus called her the “chillest” of her many animals and credited her with teaching the art of slowing down. RIP to a real one.

Megan Thee Stallion & 4oe

Meet 4oe (pronounced Four), the French bulldog who may or may not have a better PR team than most rappers. Adopted in 2019, 4oe has starred in Coach campaigns with Megan Thee Stallion, attended red carpets, and built his own Instagram empire with over 500,000 followers. He also dropped his own merch line and had a cameo in The New York Times.

Taylor Swift & Benjamin Button

Benjamin Button, Taylor Swift’s Ragdoll cat, made his debut on the set of the ME! music video in 2019 and has been purring in the background ever since. He’s been spotted lounging in Louis Vuitton trunks, immortalised in merch, and occasionally stealing the spotlight from his siblings Olivia Benson and Meredith Grey. A soft boy we know all too well.

Naomi Osaka & Butta

Butta is a Frenchie with a name like butter and a career to match. Adopted by Naomi Osaka in 2021 whilst focusing on her mental health, Butta became her four-legged sidekick through tournaments, timeouts, and everything in between. He even knows how to serve face with Nike immortalising him with a special edition of the NikeCourt Air Zoom GP Turbo—his little face printed right on the insole.

Nicole Kidman & her alpacas

Because a dog would be too obvious. Nicole Kidman’s alpacas (yes, plural) roam her Australian estate and have made the occasional cameo on her Instagram. She calls them “good listeners,” which might be a subtle nod to her Big Little Lies therapy scenes and their fur is rumoured to be softer than Kidman’s accent in The Undoing. Word is, they also enjoy a good gossip session.

Hilary Swank & Seuss

Seuss, Hilary Swank’s African Grey parrot, which she adopted as a teenager, is more than just a pet—he’s a cherished companion and a reflection of her deep love for animals (she also has a Senegal named Angel and numerous rescue dogs). Known for their intelligence and ability to mimic speech, African Greys require mental stimulation and long-term commitment. Swank has spoken about how parrots like Seuss can live up to 80 or 90 years, often outliving their owners, which makes rescue and responsible ownership crucial.
