Here's a trend we didn't really see coming: Summer sequins. Earlier this month both Dakota Johnson and Daisy Edgar Jones stepped out at various Cannes events in gritty-hued sequins, both from Gucci. And while we thought this was a red carpet only trend, Wales Bonner and Adidas's latest collaboration has proven otherwise.
In a first for the fairly long-standing collaboration (since 2020) Wales Bonner has designed an entirely new trainer silhouette, rather than reimagining an Adidas classic. For the SS25 collection the 2022 Independent British Brand Fashion Award winning brand has created the WB Karintha and released it in two fabrications.

Featuring a low profile, wrap around sole and iconic three stripe insignia, the WB Karintha comes in a toffee-hued suede (suede flats are a trend we saw coming FYI) and a chocolate coloured satin and sequin fabrication.
You read that right, this is a summer sneaker that we might more closely associate with a Christmas soiree. Nonetheless, the style is selling out at juggernaut speed, following in the footsteps of every hypey Wales Bonner x Adidas trainer that has come before.

A brief look on resale sites will tell you just how highly-prized these sneaker drops are, with the fruit of collaboration's past selling consistently in the hundreds.
We're of the belief sequins pair particularly well with denim, but whether you're keen to wear with vintage Levi's or you're a spoilsport hoping to make money on resale, these new trainers are surely a wise investment.
