There’s nothing more chic than a healthy dose of intellectualism. While fashion has long drawn inspiration from literature, it’s only in recent years that brands have fully embraced the mainstream resurgence of reading culture. Think: exhibitions, bookstore pop-ups, and box sets of classic novels reimagined with high-fashion visuals shot by some of the industry’s biggest names. Just last year, Miu Miu launched Summer Reads—an initiative that transformed newsstands and specially constructed spaces across Milan, Paris, London, New York, Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Tokyo into communal hubs celebrating literature and the arts. These spaces hosted talks, readings, live music, and performances, bringing fashion and intellectual engagement together in dynamic new ways.
'The highly-successful event is back for its second run, this time at iconic and atmospheric green spaces such as public gardens and parks in the metropolitan cities of Beijing, Hong Kong, Milan, Paris and Osaka for two days each. Transformed into immersive spaces, each locations will welcome the public to join in on reading, reflection and discussion.

Furthermore, the spaces in each city will be distinguished by its own colour and ex-libris symbol. Following in the footsteps of its previous edition, Miu Miu Summer Reads 2025 will again be spotlighting a curated selection of work by visionary female writers: French philosopher Simone de Beauvoir and Japanese playwright Fumiko Enchi.
Each guest will be gifted a copy of either The Inseparables or The Waiting Years by de Beauvoir and Enchi respectively, customised with exclusive Miu Miu dust covers, bookmarks, metal reading clips and stamps.
Miu Miu Summer Reads 2025 will take place on June 27-28 at Chaoyang Park in Beijing, Competition Pavillion in Hong Kong, Giardino delle Arti in Milan, Bibliothèque nationale de France and on June 28-29 at Umekita Park in Osaka.
