Louis Vuitton’s Spring/Summer 2026 Collection Recasts Luxury Through An Inward Lens

Where sculptural softness, cosy textures, and elevated loungewear converge into an intimate vision of modern dressing.

For spring/summer 2026, Louis Vuitton’s creative director Nicolas Ghesquière looked inward—quite literally. Presented inside the gilded summer apartments of Anne of Austria at the Musée du Louvre, the collection unfolded as an ode to intimacy and domesticity—and brought the pleasure of dressing for oneself to the fore.

This sentiment translated seamlessly into the clothes. Ghesquière softened his usual futuristic edge and gave silhouettes a fluid, relaxed feel. Tailoring appears lighter and more pliable, while skirts and dresses move with an ease that signals supple structure and comfort. The overall effect is a wardrobe that marries refinement and familiarity.

Layering also played a central role throughout the collection. Textures and fabrics are combined in ways that feel thoughtful and intuitive, with plush surfaces and intricate textiles creating depth without overwhelming the silhouette. Accessories and finishing details further reinforce the homely vibes. Softly draped scarves, silk headpieces, and delicately structured handbags are natural extensions of the clothes themselves, setting aside fashion’s penchant for orchestrated statements in favour of something more tender.

As for historical references (Ghesquière, after all, has never been shy about travelling through time with his design language), they surfaced in subtle but striking ways: Corset-like structures gently shape the waist, while Juliette sleeves and silk turbans introduce a note of romantic drama.

Despite these references, the clothes never feel nostalgic under Ghesquière’s hands. A sense of practicality and movement permeates the clothes, with relaxed jackets, sculptural skirts, and softly layered dresses, building a wardrobe made to accompany the rhythms of contemporary life.

It’s a proposal for a different vision of luxury deeply and intimately rooted in personal expression and the everyday act of getting dressed.
