For the first time in seven years, Chanel is returning to New York City to present its 2025/2026 Métiers d'art on December 2, 2025. Notably, it will be Chanel artistic director Matthieu Blazy’s first Métiers d'art collection since joining the French luxury house last December. First presented in 2002, the annual pre-season collection pays homage to the House’s unique savoir-faire and exquisite craftsmanship of its artisans, preserving and showcasing age-old techniques essential to Chanel.

In tandem with the announcement, Chanel has also unveiled the first visual teaser for the upcoming show, featuring a vintage-style subway map of New York City, superimposed with its iconic double-C logo.

The choice in location marks the next chapter in the story uniting Chanel and New York, which began in the 1930s during its founder, Gabrielle Chanel’s first travels to the Atlantic. The last time the House showcased a collection in the city was the “Paris-New York” Métiers d'art show at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in December 2018, presented by the late Karl Lagerfeld two months before his death.

“I am delighted that Matthieu Blazy has chosen New York for his first Métiers d'art show,” said Bruno Pavlovsky, President of Chanel Fashion in a press release. “He will make the creative energy of the city he knows so well resonate with the exceptional savoir-faire of the House.”

The upcoming collection will be a highly anticipated look into Blazy’s vision for Chanel as he makes his mark on the House. The designer is set to make his long-awaited Chanel debut with the spring/summer 2026 ready-to-wear collection in October 2025 at Paris fashion week.
