As they celebrate their fifth anniversary, ITZY are setting their sights firmly on the future. Their gratitude for the support of their MIDZYs (the name of the ITZY fandom) is evident, but these girls are hungry for more. Over the past five years, they’ve grown not just as a group, but they’ve navigated the whirlwind of fame with remarkable poise and resilience. We asked them about their journey so far, favourite concert moments, and how they spend their time off-stage.

How has your experience been touring internationally so far?

Chaeryeong: Every single place was precious. It was fun visiting new cities, and I was really thankful and happy to meet MIDZYs from each of them.

Have there been any memorable moments from the tour that stood out?

Chaeryeong: I think when the audience’s energy is really high, we give more in our performance.

Who were your musical influences growing up?

Chaeryeong: Even as a child, I loved celebrities and dancing. I grew up dreaming of becoming the next Girls’ Generation. When I think about my younger days, the song that keeps playing in my head is “Stupid” by Wonder Girls.

What advice would you give your younger self?

Chaeryeong: I would say ... “Don’t be too impatient!” I wish I was calmer and more at peace.
