Kim Kardashian Is Getting Back Into Makeup

She’s secretly been reading all the comments on the SKKN account.
Published: January 20, 2024

Kim Kardashian has proven to be a formidable entrepreneurial force in several industries, and beauty is no exception. In 2017, she managed to use the popularity of her signature contoured makeup look to launch KKW Beauty with its first product: the Crème Contour and Highlight Kit. The contour duo sold out immediately. And KKW Fragrance’s first release later that year, also sold out in days.

After many successful launches, she shut down both KKW Beauty and KKW Fragrances to rebrand in 2021. The business mogul quickly followed that with the 2022 launch of SKKN BY KIM, a line chock-full of luxurious skincare products—but to the disappointment of KKW fans, no pigmented eyeshadow palettes, no nude blushes, and no Kim-shaped perfume bottles.

But word on the street is that that may be changing very soon.

“Alright guys, so I have been reading the comments on the SKKN account,” the reality TV star said in an Instagram Reel posted collaboratively with the SKKN BY KIM Instagram account on Tuesday, January 16. “And so many of you want us to bring color cosmetics back.”

She proceeded to read an avalanche of desperate Instagram comments begging for the return of Kim Kardashian-made beauty products. “Kim we need the makeup,” one fan wrote. “We are dying out here!!!” Others asked for lip liners; another called for lipstick; some demanded a fragrance comeback.

“Guys, I hear you,” Kim finally said, which felt like a major hint that she was finally taking all of that feedback to heart and giving the people what they wanted. The video then ended by showing a date, 1.26.24, which has now been confirmed as the launch date for a brand new line of SKKN BY KIM makeup.

In true Kim fashion, her new line will include Lip Liner ($22), Soft Matte Lip Color ($32), and a Classic Mattes Eyeshadow Palette ($50)—all in varying shades of nude.

“I’ve recently been taking a skin-first approach towards my beauty routine,” Kim said in a press release. “In developing SKKN BY KIM Makeup, my goal was not only to create universally-flattering cosmetic essentials, but also to ensure that our products are clean, hydrating, comfortable, and help improve the look and feel of skin with every wear. Just like our skincare collection, our makeup was inspired by the beauty secrets I’ve gathered from industry experts over the years. I’m so excited for you guys to try these products—I know you’re going to love them!”
