If you’ve tried almost every workout under the sun and need a new challenge, Lagree is about to shake up your fitness routine. H-Kore Singapore is officially the first and only studio in the city to offer the Lagree Method, a high-intensity, low-impact workout that has won fans such as Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Lopez and even Michelle Obama.
It shares some elements with Pilates, but it can be more physically demanding. Invented by French fitness professional Sebastien Lagree, Lagree torches muscles in just 45 minutes using slow, controlled movements on a machine he patented called the Megaformer. You can expect deep core engagement, muscle shakes, and an afterburn that lasts for hours (I ached the entire week). It’s the perfect workout for people looking to stay fit without spending hours in the gym, and its low-impact nature makes it accessible to a wide range of individuals.

Bringing this fitness revolution to Singapore is Ashley Yeo, a 24-year-old entrepreneur who fell in love with Lagree while studying in the UK. She explains why Lagree is different, how it works, and what first-timers can expect.
What inspired you to bring Lagree to Singapore?
Lagree had a profound impact on me while I studying in the UK. It became more than just a workout—it was a sanctuary where I found discipline, resilience, and confidence in myself, both physically and mentally. When I returned to Singapore, I noticed there was nothing like it here. I saw an opportunity to introduce a workout that I love—one that not only delivers incredible results but also helps people connect with their bodies and build confidence.

How is Lagree different from Pilates?
While both Lagree and Pilates share similar roots, Lagree is more intense—it combines strength training, cardio and balance in a 45-minute workout, performed on the Megaformer. Lagree also minimises joint impact and maximises muscle engagement through slow, controlled movements, helping to build endurance and deeper muscle engagement. Once people experience the intensity and results for themselves, they quickly see why Lagree is such an effective and sustainable fitness method.
Why do you think Lagree will take off here?
Singaporeans are fitness-conscious but often time-strapped, which makes Lagree’s efficient format appealing. It’s a high-intensity, low-impact workout that fits into our fast-paced lifestyle. Additionally, with the rising interest in strength training and low-impact workouts, Lagree offers a great alternative to Pilates and HIIT.

How many sessions does it take to see results?
Most people start seeing improvement in muscle tone after three to five sessions, as Lagree activates deep muscle fibres quickly. To see further changes, it’s best to practice two to four times a week. For weight loss, consistent sessions combined with a balanced diet can lead to noticeable fat loss within six weeks.
The most powerful transformations aren’t just about visible results but about empowering people to meet themselves where they are and discover their inner strength through embodiment and connection.
What advice would you give to beginners?
If you’re intimidated by the Megaformer, don’t worry—Lagree is designed for both beginners and seasoned athletes. Start with a smaller range of motion and gradually increase as you build strength. And most importantly, don’t hesitate to let the instructor know if something doesn’t feel right.
