Sarah Jessica Parker previously insisted that she and Carrie Bradshaw don't share much overlap in their fashion choices. But when it comes to wallpaper, they may just be kindred spirits. Both have a preference for patterns that make statements—a shared taste that has now found a home in the actress' third collaboration with Wallshoppe's co-creative director (and ELLE Decor A-List designer) Eric Hughes. The wallpaper collection itself, called Mysa by Sarah Jessica Parker, is already on display: both in Parker's own personal space, and in Carrie's.

“Nathan [Turner] and Eric [Hughes] took a trip to Sweden, and there are a huge amount of vintage textiles there that are unique to that part of the world. They came back with lots of pictures,” Parker tells ELLE Decor about the genesis of Mysa. “I love Sweden, and in particular, the design and textiles and colours.” Named for the Swedish concept of coziness, comfort, and contentment, the collection is inspired by Nordic wildflowers and bold, saturated colors and patterns.

Travel, Parker says, is her secret weapon. “There's always so much dimension when you're traveling to places that are older than our country,” she tells us. “That's been the most inspired way for me to create anything—just being outside of what I know.” She's drawn to the history lingering in Swedish homes, the patina on old textiles, and the unexpected punch of a saturated hue in an old room.
That's the spirit she brought home—literally. She just completed wallpapering her daughter's bedroom at her home on Long Island in ‘Vendela’ in teal on black, and is in the process of wallpapering the primary bedroom at her mother's house in ‘Ottilia’ in Bluebelle. Next on Parker's to-do list is her powder room in her New York City home—she's planning on using ‘Astrid’ in midnight.

If you're wondering which print Carrie would pick—she already chose one: 'Vendela' in violet on brown. It features in episode 10 of And Just Like That in Carrie's new Gramercy Park apartment's powder room. Parker's taste in wallpaper, much like Carrie's, leans maximalist: “I really love big, bold, dark, saturated wallpaper that have bigger florals or bigger designs,” she tells us. “I love all the delicate stuff, but I tend to really love when the scale gets bigger.”
And Parker is leaning into the scale. She says, “I'm trying to figure out where else I can put wallpaper because I love it so much.”
